Fire System Design & Pumps

Fire system design is a complex process that requires careful planning and engineering expertise to follow the correct steps to obtain the design that suits the client's structure.

The first thing to consider is the specific risk assessment of your structure, this includes the identification of combustible materials present, the occupancy of the building and other factors that could influence the spread of fire.

Based on the results of the assessment, the appropriate fire protection systems are selected. This may include sprinklers, smoke detectors, alarms, fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems.

Then we begin a detailed design of the system, which includes: the location of the devices, the calculation of water pressure and flow, and the integration with other pre-existing systems in the building.

Construction &
Installations

The physical installation of a fire protection system is a multi-step process, beginning with a detailed site survey and the development of engineering drawings. Once approved, the actual work commences with the precise marking out of pipe routes and sprinkler head locations.

Next, skilled technicians cut and join piping, typically steel or CPVC, ensuring all connections are leak-proof through methods like welding, grooving, or solvent cementing.

Hangers and supports are then meticulously installed to secure the pipework to the building structure, maintaining proper slope for drainage.

Sprinkler heads, control valves, and other essential components like pressure gauges and flow switches are then fitted into place. Finally, the system undergoes rigorous testing, including hydrostatic pressure tests and operational checks, to verify its integrity and functionality before commissioning. This meticulous process ensures reliable fire suppression when needed most.

Systems Maintenance

The maintenance of fire pumps and systems is a critical aspect of protecting lives and property. These systems, which include water pumps, sprinklers, smoke detectors, and alarms, are essential for controlling and extinguishing fires in buildings and structures. Proper maintenance ensures that these systems function correctly in case of an emergency, which can make the difference between a minor incident and a catastrophe.

Regular maintenance guarantees that fire protection systems are in optimal condition and operate reliably when needed. This includes the inspection and testing of pumps, sprinklers, valves, and other components to ensure their proper functioning.

Local regulations in your country require periodic maintenance of fire protection systems. Complying with these regulations is not only a legal requirement but also ensures that the systems meet safety standards.

Preventive maintenance helps identify and correct potential problems before they cause system failures. This includes detecting leaks, blockages, corrosion, and other issues that can affect equipment performance.

Inspections

A well-maintained fire protection system significantly reduces the risk of fire spread and minimizes property damage and loss of life.

Although maintenance may involve an initial investment, in the long run, it is more economical than facing the consequences of a fire. Additionally, proper maintenance extends the lifespan of equipment, avoiding replacements.
